HEALING DOLL
"Esperanza"
She who bring hope and
healing
Doll Artist: Barb Kobe
made for Angie Cabrera - Minneapolis
Esperanza wears a coat of blue and
browns, her favorite colors and the colors of the energies of air and
earth. It has two prayer pockets on each side for friends and family to
place healing wishes, written or in symbol form.
This doll will remind her that she is
healthy and strong; loved and supported and that positive energy from the
universe is pouring into her body.
On her body are symbols:
The all seeing eye at her core, the
source of chi drawing in strength and courage from Spirit.
The areas within her body, where she had
a hysterectomy, are filled (stuffed) with dried roses from bouquets from
friends and family.
Underneath her skin are wrapped healing
affirmations that Angie wrote on silk fabric strips.
At her upper left side is a small red
Buddha representing the area of her port – where Buddha and the energy
of yin and yang enter.
She celebrates her femininity with a
mosaic of colors and symbols of womb and ovaries. Around her hips is a
strand of blue ribbon and beads.
Angie’s favorite fairy tale is Stone
Soup and within her coat are small symbols of the community of “stone
people” carrying their gifts of support and love.
On each person is a word taken from comments on Angie’s Caring
Bridge Internet site.
She stands tall and open armed ready to
receive all good the universe can provide. On her head she wears a turban
representing power. Wrapped within the turban are more affirmations about
strength and courage.
She carries in her pocket a small doll
with furry “mane” like the Narnia lion who is wise and protective.
This is a symbol of a wise old soul that symbolizes comfort and warmth and
the healing energy that can enter her cells and keep her body healthy.
